The Sugimoto family has been making Japanese green tea and matcha for three generations and have a network of skilled farmers across Japan from whom we can source the best leaves for any project. Thanks to this legacy of skilled craftsmanship and the relationships we’ve built with farmers, we make authentic Japanese matcha and other green teas that are beloved by people all across the globe.

But quality is about more than the final taste of the tea. We take pride in standardizing quality through all of our processes. The first step in our manufacturing is safely receiving the tea at our processing facility. We have a pressurized receiving area so that foreign material will not enter our factory when the door is opened. Our state of the art equipment and testing ensures that the matcha and other Japanese green teas are safe and handled properly.

For large orders and the most economical pricing, we provide bulk matcha and other green teas by the 15 kg-30 kg case. To ensure a safe delivery, cases consist of sturdy, double-walled cardboard boxes lined with aluminum-polymer bags that are nitrogen-flushed and sealed for maximum storage life and freshness. Unopened boxes retain freshness for two years or more with proper storage.

 

Product Safety

For testing of matcha and other green teas, we have relationships with a network of labs, both in the US and Japan, to conduct a full range of safety and nutritional analyses. Organic, Kosher, Non-GMO, and FSSC22000 certifications ensure safety and meticulous record-keeping at all stages of the production process.

Over the last several years, the demand for certified organic matcha has exploded. More consumers than ever before are relying upon the USDA Certified Organic logo to trust their matcha products. Not only did we obtain Japanese and USDA Organic Certification in order to be able to manufacture organic bulk matcha, but we also worked with farmers to convince them to transition their fields to organic as well.

Sugimoto Tea Company is experienced in providing bulk ingredient grade teas, whether they be in leaf or powder form. Our Japanese headquarters is equipped with industrial grade grinders, allowing for any of our teas to be ground according to your custom mesh specifications.

Want to produce your own blended matcha or create a loose leaf blended with herbals? We have a dedicated blending facility so you don’t need to go through a third party co-packer to get the tea blends you need.

If you’re looking for bulk tea bags, the Sugimoto factory also has the capability to produce tea bags of different shapes and from different materials, including compostable tea bags. We stock four different lines of tea bags regularly in our Redmond, WA warehouse, including 100-count bulk packaging.
